Who Are We?

Our website address is: Valuechecks Blog and we are a group of individuals who believe in being frugal, making good financial decisions and helping others to do so. We are not experts in this field other than by personal experience and hardships. One of our writers, Twila Van Leer, is a well known journalist for the Deseret News, a newspaper in Utah. She loves to write and helps out our blog by sharing some money saving ideas, some economic news and how people can benefit from it. She has a delightful sense of humor and that helps her engage with our audience.

Sherry Tingley is a graduate of Brigham Young University (’75) and understands how difficult life can be without a good financial management strategy. She has been through struggling by living paycheck to paycheck as well as enjoying a better life by planning for the future and saving as much as possible for her retirement. She knows how easy it is to get into financial trouble and hopes that the information she provides will help the audience do better in their own financial life.

We have other authors that contribute to the site by giving good financial advice and practical tips and recommendations.

Value Checks frequently quotes well known authors like Dave Ramsey, Suze Orman and Warren Buffet, all people who have good advice for building wealth. We highly recommend that before you make a financial decision based soley on the recommendations of our advice, that you do further research to reach your best decision.
